Back

Early childhood is a very important period in human development. Independence, decision-making, creativity, the ability to relate to others and feelings of self-worth all begin in early childhood. What young children learn at this stage will have a major impact on successful learning experiences in school and on personal development.

Benchmark Early Years program not only helps prepare children for future school experiences, but also provides a foundation for later success.

The average three-year-old is energetic, attention-seeking and helpful. Students attempt things that only they know how to do. They have a short attention span and learn to express their feelings. They need affection and praise. The Early Years program is developed to support and encourage the uniqueness of each child in the classroom.

Our Early Years Program follows the guidelines established by Early Childhood Care and Education, Pakistan. Our children develop a love of learning, expand their general knowledge base, and grow in their ability to get along with others. To be most successful, children need a balance of skills in each of the four building blocks of Early Years readiness:

◆ Social and emotional development
◆ Self-care, physical well-being and motor skills
◆ Language development
◆ Early academics

The Value of ‘Play’ in BmSS Early Years Curriculum

Play is a challenging concept to define because it is so multifaceted and perhaps the best definition is that ‘it is the spontaneous activity of children’. According to the ‘Benchmark Early Years Curriculum,’ play is a necessary component for a child’s physical, social, emotional and cognitive development. It provides opportunities for learning in a context in which children are at their most receptive. Our teachers are trained to develop an understanding of how children learn through play and how to plan productive play activities.
